Today we have a lovely card designed my sweet friend, Rebecca Yahrling. (You can view her Flickr gallery here.) I love the way she “thought outside the box” when she created this awesome holiday card using birds/birdcages and snowflakes. She even used a non-traditional color scheme to make it even more fun!
Here’s what Rebecca says about putting this card together:
“Here it is December already! And I still need a few more Christmas cards to get done. So that’s where today’s card comes from. I started with a white card base and added a purple card stock. Then I die cut a bunch of snowflakes (Lawn Fawn) in a white card stock. Then I cut a piece of vellum and embossed (Ranger liquid platinum) the sentiment (CDD). I adhered the vellum to thesnowflake panel by wrapping it around the sides & adhering with Tombow mono liquid glue on the back. I then adhered this to the purple card stock with the same glue. I die cut the bird cage (Spellbinders Flight 1) in Core’dinations silver mist cs as well as white card stock, gluing together for a bit more dimension, then adhered to the center of the card. I also hand cut a very thin strip of the silver card stock as a hanger for the cage. I die cut two birds (one from Spellbinders Flight 1 and one from Taylored Expressions Birds & Branch) in the same purple card stock and adhered to the cage.
We are all birdie lovers in my family, so someone will be happy to receive this card.”
