A mixed media technique for embossing folders

Hello everyone, Nadine here with my first CropStop post.  I am one who is always trying to find fun new ways to use embossing folders, so I was excited to see the large variety that the CropStop Store has. I used the Craft Concepts Tall Trees Embossing Folder to create a unique background for this card, using a mixed media technique for embossing folders:

Thinking Of You Card

I started by embossing a piece of Core’dinations cardstock and then painted a coat of Prima Art Basics 3D Gloss Gel in Transparent to give the embossed paper a shine.

Then using a Gelli Arts Plate and some paint, I used the Craft Concepts Tall Trees Embossing Folder as a stamp and stamped it onto the backside of the Core’dinations cardstock.

Thinking Of You Card

I then cut the stamped piece down to fit my card, matted it a few times with other cardstock colors then embellished it with chipboard, brads, and ribbon.

Thinking Of Your Card

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a crafty day. Be sure to check out the CropStop shop to find all the supplies to create this project and so much more!

About Nadine Carlier

Nadine has been scrapbooking for about 18 years now with 12 x 12 layouts and cards being her favorite things to create. Since becoming a stay at home mom four years ago after being a hairstylist for 20 years, she started scrapping full time to help keep her sanity! She describes her scrappy style as eclectic, but she also loves creating grungy like projects. She feels no project is complete unless it has some sort of mixed media on it, whether it be; color sprays, pastes, paint or anything that's messy.
