Today I’m sharing a winter wonderland card I created in whites and blues. Instead of using all of one brand of product, I combined several to create the bright winter sky behind my snow scene.
- Tapped out some Ultramarine Blue Color Bursts (Ken Oliver) on my desk and spritzed it with water
- Drug my white card stock through the color/heat set/repeated till I achieved the desired color depth
- Diluted a bit of white acrylic paint with water and, using a small paintbrush, I splattered my sky and heat set
- Using sponge daubers and Blueprint Sketch Distress ink, I added a bit of shading to the top of my sky
- Tore three strips of card stock and glued them to my card front
- Added some fake snow with a wet glue and a tiny deer (unknown die)
- Punched three trees with a Martha Stewart tree punch
- Embossed the trees using the Evergreen Embossing Folder from Sizzix)
- The trees are popped up off the background with Mounting Tape
- The inside features snowflakes (lg. Martha Stewart ) punched from leftover pieces of color burst dyed card stock.
I’d love to see the backgrounds you create with color burst or distress inks so stop by our CURRENT LINK PARTY and showoff any projects that include a few products from companies Cropstop carries in the store! Happy Crafting!
Such a striking and beautiful background you’ve created, Esther, and I love the embossing on the trees for all that dimension.
Love the background, such great detail in the trees and like your snow drifts with the deer!
Esther, what a lovely winter wonderland you have created! I love that wintry sky, and I appreciate the tutorial! I love the colorbursts, but I don’t have that color. Embossing your trees is a clever idea, and I love the deer die cut. Gorgeous make! hUgs!
