Today I have a quilt themed sympathy card to share with you. I keep my paper scraps organized in pockets according to color, so it’s fairly easy to pull out some matching pieces and create a background like this one.
Here’s how I put created the background for this card:
- Using a Paper Trimmer, cut misc. paper scraps into 1/4 inch wide strips
- Glue your trimmed strips to a piece of card stock in a somewhat random pattern
- Emboss the finished piece with the Christmas Quilt Embossing Folder from Couture Creations
Since I wanted the quilted background to be the main feature of this card, I kept the embellishments to a minimum.
- Using the Versamark Watermark ink pad, stamp an image from All Things are Possible (Heartfelt Creations) on matching card stock, add white embossing powder and heat set
- Using the Blossom Nestabilities from Spellbinders, cut the image out
- Add a pretty ribbon to your card front and pop up your sentiment with mounting tape
- Stamp the Seamstress stamp (Prima) in Broken China Distress Oxide
- Layer a sentiment from All Occasions Sentiments (Heartfelt) over top in Black ink (Tsukineko)
Now it’s YOUR turn to share what you’ve been creating lately! Stop by our CURRENT LINK PARTY and show off any project that includes a few products from companies Cropstop carries in the store.
Esther, your placement of all those tiny strips is perfectly done with equal white space between them; that’s not easy to do manually. The card is beautiful with your coordinating papers and quilted embossing folder. Great idea!
What a GORGEOUS design! You get an A++++ for your technical ability! Wow!
Very pretty
Gorgeous, I just love the colors you have used here, I have been wanting to do one of these cards, great inspiration!
I love the color choices of your card and oh my great minds think alike – I also made a couple of Quilted Sympathy cards – have a blessed week
