Autumn is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I enjoy everything about it, the crisp mornings, the colorful leaves falling everywhere, all things apple and pumpkin, long cozy nights, homemade soup simmering on the stove, wood fires, etc. etc. – You get the idea – I love fall! Today I’m sharing two cards I made featuring beautiful colorburst leaf wreaths….let’s get started.
To create the background for my card:
- Cut a piece of kraft cardstock to size (I cut mine 4 x 5 1/4 inches but then I trimmed it a little to add another mat)
- Using my Scoring Board, I scored my kraft piece every 1/2 inch
- Swiped my Picket Fence Distress stain down the front two or three times
- Swiped some Antique Linen and Rusty Hinge Distress Ink over the top
- Distressed the edges
- I dropped six variations of Color Bursts (Orange, Tangerine, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Umber, Lime Green) on my white cardstock, spritzed with water, and heat set (repeat as necessary to get the intensity and color you want)
- Using my Frond Punch (Martha Stewart) I cut a stack of leaves from my colorful paper
- I added a bit of Walnut Stain Distress Ink to the edges of each leaf using Sponge Daubers
- Using two sizes from my Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders) I cut a narrow circle as a guide for my wreath (see photo above)
- I glued my leaves around the circle and bent the tips/edges for more dimension
- Popped my wreath up with Scotch Foam Mounting Tape
- Tied a bow using Antique Gold, Burgundy, and Olive Burlap String
- Added some Petaloo Flowers
- Tucked a bit of burlap behind the flowers
- Across the bottom is a EK Success sentiment stamped in Ground Espresso Distress Ink
Inside there are three more punched leaves (this time in Kraft edged in Walnut Stain) and a sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations set, All Things Are Possible.

Oh my goodness is this ever stunning, I have got to try this, I just love how you finish off the inside too, I do that occasionally but not as often as I should, I am lucky to get the front done and the card in the mail on time. Love the colors you used in the background too, looks great!
I cannot imagine punching all those leaves, Esther, but your card is a stunner!
