Today I’m sharing a fairly quick and easy card featuring a bright autumn background created with Distress Inks.
- I cut a piece of watercolor paper to size
- Using sponge daubers, I began inking my paper with distress inks starting with the lightest colors and gradually adding the dark hues
- (Here are the Distress Ink colors I used in order: Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge)
- To finish off the background piece, I splattered some water droplets over it with a small paintbrush and heat set it with my heat gun
- The next step was stamping my leaves (Leaves Galore – Inkadinkad0) in Versamark Watermark ink, adding black embossing powder, and heat setting with my heat embossing gun
- After distressing the edges, I glued my watercolor panel to a piece of black cardstock and then to my card front.
- The vellum sentiment comes from Creative Memories and has two black photo corners holding it in place
- On the left I added a burlap string bow
- Inside I added an EK Success sentiment stamped in Walnut Stain and two oak leaves
- (Note: To create a more realistic look to my leaves I stamped them in layers – Rusty Hinge, Walnut Stain, and Peeled Paint)
