Guest Designer – Darlene Pavlick

Today we have a very talented guest designer sharing a beautiful winter card with us! She’s Darlene Pavlick of Dars Crafty Creations. Not only has Darlene created a gorgeous card, she’s also included step by step instructions (with pictures) showing how she put her masterpiece together!

Darlene says:

“Hello Everyone!  Thanks so much to CropStop for having me as Guest Designer in October.  I hope you enjoy what I’ve created to share with you.

For the focus of my card, I have used the beautiful Memory Box Airin Bird Background (die cut from red glitter paper) and Memory Box Airin Snowflake Bird (die cut from white card stock) as the focus.

The background for my bird was created using Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks (Broken China & Faded Jeans).  On my craft sheet I stamped down both colors side by side, spritz with water using the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and began dragging my watercolor paper through the ink … this way & that.  Spraying with water again and drying with my heat gun.

The last step was to spritz again with water, but this time, dabbling dry with a dry paper towel to achieve the white spots.

Now I have the basis for my card.  I felt a framing of some sort was needed and this Memory Box ‘Scattered Snowflake Frame’ worked perfectly.

NOW I’m ready for assembly!

To make it all POP, I cut a mat from black card stock 1/16″ smaller than my white base card.  The bird has been popped up using Scotch foam mounting tape and a die cut holiday sentiment was attached at the bottom.

Here’s one more look at the finished card.”
