Guest Designer – Birgit Norton

Magnets11It’s time for another guest design post here on the Cropstop blog. This weeks guest designer is Birgit Norton of Crafting While I Wait. Birgit has made a beautiful set of Shabby Refrigerator Magnets to share with us today. I love the scallop heart shape she used and the neutral tones that include music paper, kraft flowers, and butteries!

Magnets8Birgit shares how she put these lovely magnets together:

“Step 1:  Cut the hearts and butterflies out of  kraft and cream colored cardstock (Heart dies by Elizabeth Craft Design) and distress the edges using Gathered Twigs Distress Inks and a Blending Tool.
Step 2:  Stamp the music background to the stitched hearts and layer the stamped heart to the kraft scalloped hearts using Scor-Tape or Glossy Accents.

Step 3:  Apply a Kraft chipboard backing to the scalloped hearts again, using Scor-Tape or Glossy Accents.

Magnets10Step 4:  Stamp sentiment banners
Step 5:  Stamp and layer butterflies using Zots Glue Dots
Magnets2 Step 6:  Assemble the hearts using Zots Glue Dots and/or Glossy Accents adding butterflies to some and paper flowers to the others.
Step 7:  Adhere a magnet to the back using Scor-Tape”

Magnets4I’d love to see the paper craft projects you’ve been working on lately, so stop by our CURRENT CHALLENGE and link up anything that uses products from companies Cropstop carries in the store.  Happy Crafting!

Very pretty! I have a thing for music notes and anything script, so these really speak to my heartstrings. They’d make a lovely gift to anyone.
