Mixed Media On Burlap Canvas

Hello everyone, TGIF!  Nadine here sharing a 6 x 6 Burlap Canvas by Canvas Corp that I decorated using a few simple mixed media techniques.  This would make a perfect Mother’s Day gift!

Spread some Art Basics 3D Matte Gel in Transparent onto a Gelli Arts Plate then randomly sprayed some Ranger Dylusions Ink Spray in Calypso Teal and some Creative Imaginations Radiant Rain Spray in Sunburst over that.  Instead of using a brayer on the Gelli Arts Plate I used one of the Tim Holtz Texture Tools to create a pattern before pressing my paper down onto the plate. Once my paper was dry, I then used the Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch to cut out some cute embellishments to add to my canvas.

Once my canvas was dry, I mixed some yellow glitter with some Art Basics 3D Matte Gel in Transparent and used the Prima 6.5 x 10.25 Bubble Stencil to create the fun circles onto the canvas.

The Tiny Pegs by Kaisercraft worked perfectly to attach the pictures to some ribbon pieces. Then embellish with some Petaloo Flowers and the previously made butterflies and you will have a beautiful keepsake that anyone would love to have.

About Nadine Carlier

Nadine has been scrapbooking for about 18 years now with 12 x 12 layouts and cards being her favorite things to create. Since becoming a stay at home mom four years ago after being a hairstylist for 20 years, she started scrapping full time to help keep her sanity! She describes her scrappy style as eclectic, but she also loves creating grungy like projects. She feels no project is complete unless it has some sort of mixed media on it, whether it be; color sprays, pastes, paint or anything that's messy.
