It’s time for our last link party of 2017!
Announcing a few changes for 2018
- Every time we get 100 or more links we will draw TWO random winners and give away TWO prizes
- The Challenge is moving to the FIRST MONDAY of every month. (Since I’ve been doing an inspiration post every week, on Monday, and featuring one of you on Guest Designer Friday; it will make things simpler and more organized for me to move the link party to Monday.) Same great challenge – same prize, just moving to a different day! That means the NEXT challenge will begin on January 1st!
- The Winner(s) will be announced the day after the new challenge begins!
- Instead of announcing a TOP PICK every month I’ll feature one “Gallery Stand Out” each week on Wednesday
Now, on to the current challenge…..Today I’m sharing two different ways to create hot chocolate pockets for gifting to those in your card-making club, your Bible study group, your co-workers, or just a sweet friend who needs a little pick-me-up!
This first pocket is made just like a greeting card. Here’s how I put it together:
- I embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Knitted embossing folder from Couture Creations
- I distressed the edges and adhered it to my card front with my ATG gun
- Across the bottom of the card I added a wide strip of Christmas ribbon
- To create my big embellishment I used the Create a Flake dies from Spellbinders
- I die cut three red ones and glued them together, two green, and two white
- Each layer is popped up using Scotch Foam Mounting Tape
- In the center I added a red gemstone and underneath a burlap string bow
- A line of tiny pearls finishes off the front
- Inside I created a pocket using a white piece of card-stock embossed with the Knitted folder and cut diagnoally
- I embellished the corner with greens cut from Holiday Greens Thinlits (Tim Holtz), another snowflake, and a big pearl
- Cut a piece of light blue card-stock to measure 4.25 x 8.5 inches
- Folded the piece in half
- Scored the front panel at the 1.5 inch line
- Cut along the scored line
- Embossed the front panel with the Super Powder Puff Embossing Folder from Couture Creations
- Folded over and glued it together to form a pocket
- Squeezed a small drop of (White Opal) Liquid Pearls onto each of the little circles in the embossing
- Created a tiny tag using the Scallop Circle Nestabilties from Spellbinders and the Create a Flake dies from Spellbinders
- Tied the tag to a candy cane using Seaglass Organdy Swirls Ribbon
I created a tiny tag to tuck into the pocket using the Create a Flake dies, light blue burlap string, and a sentiment from Winter Wonders (All Night Media) stamped in Broken China Distress Oxide
Now it’s your turn to share your creativity with us!
Here’s how our challenges work:
- Create ANY new project using products from companies CropStop carries in the store. It’s ok if you didn’t buy it from us, and also fine if it’s a product we don’t currently have it in stock as long as it’s from one of the companies we carry!
- Please, no back-linking old projects.
- Limit five (5) entries per challenge.
- Link your project here, link back to this post, and mention the CropStop Challenge in your post.
- We’ll choose a random Winner (or two if we reach 100 links) to receive a prize from the CropStop Store!
Thanks so much for linking up with us, we look forward to seeing all your great entries this month. Grab our badge and help us spread the word that CropStop is a great place to play along!

Esther, Wow! These are so adorable and what a great idea! My favorite is the blue with snowflakes. Sa-Weet! Hugs!
These are lovely. What a fun idea and perfect for a thoughtful little gift with the xmas card. Hugz
I love what you’ve done with both of these………I would never have thought to cut a snowflake out of red paper (I immediately gravitate to white but love the red). Gorgeous ribbon and embossing.
These are darling little gifts! I love that knitted folder!! Wouldn’t it be cool if once in a while real snowflakes came in colors?!!
Delicious projects here! Nice work – so clean and neat – TFS and for the new Challenge – Merry Christmas!

Oh wow these are so cool, love the embossing on both, the embossing on the card goes neat with the paper and love the layering on the snowflakes, those pearls on the pocket are a great touch!! The candy cane is sweet with it also!
