Season’s Greetings

It’s hard to believe that the Thanksgiving holiday is already behind us and we’re quickly heading into Christmas, but it’s true! Maybe it’s just me, but this first year of working for Cropstop as a designer seems to have passed by quickly! To kick off the Christmas holiday season I’m sharing a bright red card I created as well as mini tutorial for creating that sparkly flower!

Supplies needed:

To create my flower I:

  • Punched 8 sets of petals with the Floral Petals Punch (McGill)
  • Using my stylus and Craft Molding Mat, I shaped each petal for a more realistic look

Starting at the bottom I:

  • Added four of the largest petals to a punched flower shape (a circle would work as well)
  • Continued to add layers working my way from the biggest to the smallest
  • “Dipped” the edges of my completed flower in Versamark ink and then in Red Tinsel embossing powder before heat setting
  • Added a white center with Liquid Pearls (white opal)

To create my card I:

  • The flower has two holly leaves for accents – die cut with the Anna Griffin Die: Holly Sprig from Cuttlebug
  • The holly is embossed and inked with Pine Needles Distress Ink
  • Inside I added another strip of polka-a-dot paper and a pretty piece of paper lace (punched with a Martha Stewart border punch)

I’d love to see the holiday cards you’re creating, so stop by the CURRENT LINK UP and showoff your projects that use a few products from companies Cropstop carries in the store! I hope to see you there!!
