July Guest Designer, Stephanie Wright

Welcome to the CropStop Blog, everyone!  For the month of July, we have special Guest Designer, Stephanie Wright.  Stephanie has been playing along in the CropStop challenges for some time now, and she is a sweet and talented artist.  She enjoys using lots of different CropStop products, and trying new techniques.  That’s exactly what she did when she created these two amazing cards.

Here is how Stephanie created her cards:  On watercolor paper, she scribbled using a Chipboard Sapphire Destress Marker in various places.  She didn’t take any particular care to where she scribbled, and was simply laying down color.  Then, using an ink blending tool, she added other colors of distress inks all over the watercolor paper.  She didn’t try to blend them.  Again, she was simply laying down color.  Then, using a water brush, she softened the edges of each color and did some simple blending.  She dried them using a heat gun.  Then, using Versamark and clear embossing powders, she stamped a swirly image randomly all over the image and heat embossed it.  She then generously spritzed the entire piece with a mini-mister.  She let the water sit on the surface for about 45 seconds and then blotted it off with a damp paper towel.  The vibrant colors were trapped under the clear embossing, but the rest of the distress inks started to lighten up considerably.  She continued spritzing and blotting until she was happy with her results and achieved the color she desired.  Finally, she let everything air dry.

CropStop products used:  Mini Mister, Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Markers (in Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers, Faded Jeans, Worn Lipstick, and Fired Brick), Versamark Ink, Star Dust Stickles (on the rectangular card), Ink Blending Tool 1″ Round, Cuttlebug Machine.

Other CropStop items from brands carried in our store – Spellbinders Standard Circle Dies Large and Small, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Fiskars Trimmer Blades, Fiskars butterfly punch (rectangular card only).

Fabulous cards!  Thanks, Stephanie.  You can visit Stephanie’s Blog for a closer look and to leave her some CropStop love.  We hope that you will also play along in this month’s challenge for your chance to win some CropStop products.

Happy Crafting!
